Shirlington Village gets a long awaited new neighbor today, with the grand opening of
Copperwood Tavern.
A cabin-style restaurant and bar, the 218-seat venue features a seasonal farm-to-table menu, 20 draft beer options, and a craft bar program that boasts pours of real moonshine (aka Virginia's 'white whiskey').
Copperwood Tavern was designed by local artist
Maggie O'Neill and conjures the feeling of entering the southern Virginia wilderness, with charming hunting and fishing accents abounding. An outdoor, dog-friendly front porch even allows guests to dine accompanied by their favorite hunting companions, complete with copper dog bowls and house-baked treats.
Two-legged patrons can sup on prime cuts of local game, farm-raised poultry, beef, and fresh fish accompanied by hearty, family-style sides courtesy of Executive Chef
Allan Javery.
The space is
O'Neill Studios' official final project prior to the team's integration with newly-formed creative design studio
SwatchRoom.
Copperwood Tavern is but the newest addition to
Wooden Nickel Bar Company's rapidly expanding portfolio of hospitality properties, which already includes
Irish Whiskey Public House,
The Mighty Pint, and
Wilson Tavern.
Copperwood Tavern is located at 4021 Campbell Avenue in Arlington, VA. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 11:00am to 1:00am and Saturday-Sunday from 10:00am to 1:00am.
