Wednesday evening, the National Building Museum might have been all about
Alice, but last night it was the Chairman of the Board himself that definitively stole center stage.
To be sure, yesterday
The Capital Club's signature annual summer celebration -- affectionately called
Sinatra Soiree in a playful nod to Frank Sinatra -- returned to the District for the 22nd time in a row.
Labeled one of the best parties of summer by
Washingtonian, the well attended event brings together hundreds of Washington's young and beautiful for a night of cocktails, dancing, and live music.
As in prior years, the latter came courtesy of locally-based
Radio King Orchestra, with its trademark blend of exciting sounds and elegant style.
And as with all Capital Club events, a portion of the party's proceeds were earmarked for a series of both local and national charity and community causes, most notably the Trey Lefler Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of the South.
