GEORGETOWN – Thursday night,
Fashion for Paws models
Jennifer Barrett and
Stef Woods hosted the 2nd Annual ‘Cupid the Matchmaker’ fundraiser at
Degrees Bar & Lounge inside the Georgetown outpost of
The Ritz-Carlton hotel.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, everyone was on the hunt for that special someone. Upon arrival, guests received status-coded nametags to help take some of the guesswork out of matchmaking. A plain white nametag meant you were taken or not interested. And a red and white nametag gave the go-ahead to flirt shamelessly!
Invitees grew closer at this year’s fundraiser, with special appearances from
Charley of
The Psychic Shop and
Michelle Jacoby of
DC Matchmaking.
Singles and couples alike sat down to chat with
Exploring Intimacy’s
Dr. Ruth Neustifter about everything from sexuality education to dating advice. Fun fact from Dr. Ruth: Many cheaply made… let’s call them toys...contain chemicals that can cause cervical cancer. Who knew?
Girls sipping specialty ‘paw-tinis’ gathered to listen to
Rachel Machacek, author of
The Science of Single, dish out advice on dating in the District and receive signed copies of her chart climbing book.
After raising over $3,000 at last year’s Matchmaker event, Stef and Jennifer are hoping to raise just as much this year for the
Washington Humane Society.
We have our fingers crossed for you ladies!
