NORTHWEST -- With a tag line like “Get Brunch’d In The Face,” D.C. residents made it a point to brave Saturday afternoon’s wacky weather (sun, rain, hail, all in the span of 90 minutes?!) to attend a special “Dayside Brunch” event hosted by 94.7 Fresh FM radio personality Tommy McFLY, Quinn Gillespie & Associates’ Chris Brown, and Merge Creative Media’s Brendan Kownacki.
Held inside the chic interior of 19th Street’s Cities Restaurant & Lounge, the day-to-night affair invited guests to eat, drink, and be merry, with a portion of food and drink proceeds benefiting the Fashion for Paws program of the Washington Humane Society.
A toast to fashion …and paws.
A live auction was held midway through the party for a series of once-in-a-lifetime “Signature Experiences”, including VIP passes to Capitol File Magazine’s 2011 White House Correspondents Association Dinner After-Party, orchestra tickets to see Charlie Sheen at DAR Constitution Hall (BYO tiger blood and boos), and even two roundtrip business-class tickets to Paris courtesy of OpenSkies.
Co-host Chris Brown and Dannia Hakki congratulate Dida Atassi on her OpenSkies live auction ticket win.
Ally Mann and Andrea Szempruch congratulate Dr. Mark Drapeau (pictured center) on the two VIP tickets to Capitol File’s WHCAD After Party with which he walked away.
While revelers dug into platters of waffles and Eggs Benedict and popped bottles of champagne (think mimosas and bellinis), they were treated to an interactive slideshow of various recent Fashion for Paws events on Cities’ wall of LCD displays and a bouncing soundtrack courtesy of DJ Seyhan Duru.
No brunch would be complete without some bubbly...
Cities’ many LCD displays channeled an interactive slideshow of F4P event photographs.
All told, the afternoon brought in close to $10,000. Puppies: 1; Weather: 0.
