U STREET CORRIDOR -- Warmer weather. A sporadic rain shower here and there. Yes, spring is definitely in the air in D.C. and Washingtonians are eager to celebrate a return to the outdoors.

And if you’re Room & Board, one of the city’s largest home furnishings retailers, with a gorgeous wraparound rooftop deck that almost spans the length of two city blocks, that can only mean one thing: patio party.


Or we should rather say, “packed patio party.” Indeed, close to 700 people RSVP’d for the laid back soiree at the furniture giant’s 14th and T Streets location on Tuesday night.


There, with the sun just beginning to peak out, guests were free to lounge on the dozens of seating areas that had been arranged throughout the roof, while enjoying the soothing sounds of a live steel drum band.


A complimentary buffet of artisanal cheeses and charcuterie ensured that no one was tempted to leave for alternative dinner plans and an open bar, including plenty of ice cold Flying Dog beer, kept everyone deeply engulfed in conversation.
