U STREET -- Dear D.C. hipsters: I have seen the (pop-up) promised land and its name is
vitaminwater uncapped LIVE.
A self-described “lil’ bit of color on the canvas of life,” uncapped LIVE is a month-long series of events that will spotlight the collective talent of dozens of local musicians, artists, designers, and athletes at a single, temporary U Street Corridor location.
From now until June 17th,
2213-2217 14th Street, NW will be the source of a seemingly endless series of concerts, fashion, comedy, film, and photography shows, and dozens of other community-related events.
Boasting more than 20,000 square feet of performance, gallery, and party space, the former D.C. Department of Transportation building has literally been transformed into an unprecedented den of regional creativity – all courtesy of the good folks at
vitaminwater (
Full disclosure: vitaminwater is a sponsor of REVAMP.com).
Produced by
Brightest Young Things, attendees will be treated to performances from the likes of
Fatback,
Chris Burns,
Rival Skies, and dozens of other both local and national acts.
vitaminwater has also partnered with D.C.-based
Art Whino to host the second installment of the gallery’s amazing
G40 Art Summit: a massive contemporary art exhibit featuring works by artists from around the world.
While uncapped LIVE’s official opening night is Friday, May 20th, a special, invitation-only soft launch party will be held this evening from 8:00 p.m. until midnight.
In partnership with
The Fader magazine, vitaminwater will offer some 500 guests a complimentary concert tonight featuring guest headliner
Wale, along with performances by
Rye Rye,
Fat Trel and
XO. Oh, and an open
Heineken (and vitaminwater) bar too.
Hydration for
EVERY occasion indeed!
