GEORGETOWN -- Ram skulls, exposed brick, wood-paneled floors, and a bank of dressing rooms – each boasting its own cast-iron door – are but a handful of the signature decorative accents that will greet shoppers at contemporary retailer AllSaints Spitalfields’ newly opened two-level Georgetown location.

The location features two levels of prime shopping space, with a four-story building façade.

Ram skulls serve as wall hangers inside each dressing room.

The 5,040-square-foot M Street store, which occupies the same space that formerly housed a Club Monaco outpost, is the British chain’s first standalone store in the D.C. metropolitan area (although rumors are swirling about a possible Tysons Corner opening in 2012) and comes amidst a sizeable international expansion for the label.

Originally conceived as a pure menswear brand in 1994, AllSaints’ reputation for well-crafted clothing with a vintage-inspired design twist quickly struck a chord with fashion forward consumers around the globe. Today, the brand offers a full range of apparel and accessory collections for both men and women at more than 80 stand-alone stores and 70 concessions around the world, including in London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, New York, Los Angeles, and Barcelona.

The Georgetown store’s second story is dedicated entirely to menswear.

Each AllSaints store takes many of its interior design cues from the space it inhabits and the Georgetown location is no different. Any non-vintage fixtures found inside are handmade in the United Kingdom and more than 60% of them are reclaimed artifacts, with the remaining cast-iron furniture produced via an authentic sand-casting method.

Sales associates aren’t just employees; they’re also models!

Over 200 looms and Singer sewing machines are scattered about the interior of the store, most prominently in the second floor window in front, spotlighting a rather unique AllSaints signature decorative accent. The brand’s logo, a ram skull, is also prominently featured throughout, including serving as the wall hangers inside each of the 10 dressing rooms.

Dressing rooms are spacious and modernly appointed.

Bridging the gap between the physical and virtual worlds, a handful of sleek iPads line the walls of the store, thereby enabling shoppers to browse the brand’s online offerings while simultaneously benefiting from the ability to look at and feel each product in person.

A rather nice perk that comes with opening a store of such grand size in Georgetown is the landscaped outdoor area, in the back of the building, that comes included in the rent. We expect great things (e.g., shopping parties, live music, etc.) from this space moving forward, so stay tuned!
