GEORGETOWN -- Nestled between charming boutiques and sophisticated row houses,
Nectar Skin Bar brings a distinct elegance with a strong youthful flair to upper Georgetown. As the newest addition to Washington power couple
Amy Little Thomas and
Brian Thomas’ franchise, and, unlike its sister salon, Ipsa for Hair, Nectar has found its niche in high-end, personalized skin products and treatments.

As guests arrived for Nectar’s private opening Tuesday night, they were treated to a tour through the salon’s various treatment rooms—from pedicure to facial—and back toward the outdoor patio garden space, which is outfitted with lounge chairs and couches. While the 800 square foot garden space, during fair weather, will be utilized for everything from facials to manicures, for opening night it was dedicated simply to socializing.

Guests bravely faced the D.C. summer heat to mingle outside, being treated all the while to scrumptious appetizers and specialty cocktails. Bartenders served up infinite glasses of refreshing mojitos and a champagne-vodka-berry-sorbet concoction, while hair experts and makeup artists provided passers-by with volumizing hair treatments and flawless makeup application.

Amy and Brian Thomas have seamlessly combined their love for travel and luxury to offer the best of what they had found internationally, back home to clients in Washington. As the Director of Protocol for the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Amy has seen countless spas and retail stores during her worldly travels. Both she and Brian, the longtime chief of staff to Texas Congressman Kenny Merchant, recognized a void to fill back home: offering Washingtonians the best skin products and services they had seen abroad in major cities like Paris, London and Tokyo.
Nectar offers customers access to one of Washington’s most selective arrays of internationally renowned beauty products. Meticulously placed alongside the salon’s shelves are brands often only available at elite spas and hotels, including labels like Comfort Zone, GlamGlow, Darphin and even an exclusive selection of Los Angeles-based Chocolate Sun’s organic tanning line.
In addition to Nectar’s incredible bounty of high-end products, the skin spa offers a breathtaking spa service menu, providing internationally-inspired services such as: LashDip mascara treatments, Italian Softsense gentle waxing treatments, Intraceuticals Oxygen Infusion facials, and sweet Chocolate Sun organic tans.
All of these services are housed in Nectar’s converted row house space that has been decorated by interior designer
William McGovern of McGovern Design. Crystal chandeliers light up the staircases, spa rooms and even bathrooms for an elegant, warm touch.
Nectar Skin Bar taps into a unique market that targets the human body’s biggest and most visible organ: our skin. Its heavenly services are not to be missed!
