PENN QUARTER -- The Chairman of the Board himself would have been proud of the summertime styles on display Thursday night, as The Capital Club hosted its annual ‘Sinatra Soiree’ fundraiser inside the massive atrium of the National Building Museum.

Capital Club President Win Huffman and Vice President Fritz Brogan.

A Washington, D.C.-based social club and non-profit organization, The Capital Club organizes a series of popular events each year, with proceeds benefiting a variety of both local and national charities, including the Trey Lefler Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of the South.

Membership to the organization is strictly limited to 100 Washingtonian men (sister organization The Madison provides similar opportunities to women) and the rare open spot is coveted by many a recent Georgetown graduate.

Now in its nineteenth year, the summertime ‘Sinatra Soiree’ invites hundreds of revelers from all over the country (several travel down from New York, Boston, etc. just for the occasion) to don their favorite seersucker jackets, madras pants, and crisp evening dresses to swing, jive, and wail the night away to the big band era sounds of Frank Sinatra, with a handful of Top 40 hits intermixed during the live band’s rest breaks.

Suffice it say, any “Strangers in the Night” were good friends by the time the party wrapped-up!
