Britney Spears’ personal trials and tribulations, but she certainly knows how to put on a show! And Sunday evening, the GRAMMY Award-winning artist brought her show to the District with an energetic performance at the
Verizon Center.

Approximately half-way through the North American leg of her summer ‘Femme Fatale’ world tour, Spears treated audience members – who spanned the age range from grade schoolers to adults – to a fun 22-track set list.

The concert, which had Britney re-enacting many of her signature dance moves from over the years (think of her sensual slide from "I'm a Slave 4 U”), featured an army of colorfully-clad backup performers/dancers (
Jessie and the Toy Boys) and a gaggle of props (a pink Mini Cooper).

One lucky male fan was even invited on-stage by the diva for a personal performance (we assume he tuned out the thousands of screaming fans) during “Leather and Lace.”

Nicki Minaj, who is currently enjoying some chart-topping success of her own with her current
Pink Friday album, served as the opening act during last night’s show and sported her trademark pink wig with pride.

At the end of the performance, the world might not have ended, but judging by the thousands of screaming fans, Washingtonians clearly didn’t hold it against Britney…
