NORTHWEST -- The city’s contemporary art aficionados and collectors banded together in the spacious and warmly-lit atrium of the
Corcoran Gallery of Art on Friday evening, for the second annual NOW at Night celebration.
Organized by members of the gallery’s ‘
Contemporaries’ group, the lively fundraiser invited guests to dance the night away to the hybrid music/video presentations of composer, multimedia artist, and writer
DJ Spooky, while enjoying a catered dessert buffet and plenty of specialty cocktails and libations.

Corcoran Contemporaries are united by the common desire to support the gallery’s contemporary art programming – both within the Corcoran’s exhibition spaces and inside the sister college’s academic curriculum.
And the NOW at Night fall celebration is the primary annual benefit designed specifically to raise funds for the Corcoran’s dedicated contemporary gallery,
NOW at the Corcoran.
This year’s gathering featured a private viewing of the museum’s recently-opened and carefully curated
30 Americans collection, as well as a final viewing of the works featured in the Corcoran’s abstract
Chris Martin: Painting Big exhibition.
An encouraging outpouring of support for contemporary ‘American Genius’!
