NORTHWEST -- With plenty of out-of-town celebrities jetting into the city for tomorrow’s
Honoring the Promise event benefiting
Susan G. Komen for the Cure, native Washingtonians turned-out Thursday evening for a similarly-minded, but unabashedly hometown fundraiser, at
Hudson Restaurant & Lounge.
Not even a pop-in by Virginia
Governor Bob McDonnell (R) at sister restaurant
Lincoln could stop managing partner
Alan Popovsky from enjoying a relaxing evening with friends and supporters inside Hudson’s pink-tinged dining area and outdoor, fire-lit patio space.
Despite a constant stream of complimentary small bites streaming out of the kitchen (think s’mores topped with pink marshmallows), with 25% of the evening’s proceeds benefiting the fight against breast cancer, guests heartily dug into the restaurant’s well-known comfort cuisine and cocktail menus.
Two specialty drinks created just for the occasion were the ‘Tickled Pink’ (Cuvee Jean Louis. X-Rated Fusion liqueur) and ‘Pink Ribbon’ (Skyy vodka, Cointreau, lime juice, blackberry juice, house made sour mix) cocktails, with both easily recognizable given their respective pink and cherry hues.
And nothing looks prettier in pink than charity, right?
