NORTHWEST -- Editorial and runway model
Shannon Rusbuldt’s philanthropically-infused fashion event,
Fashion’s Fight Against MS, returned to the District on Monday evening, during a crowded event held at
The Liaison Capitol Hill hotel.
The second incarnation of the stylish charity event benefitting the
National Capital Chapter of the
MS Society, this year’s runway show saw
Alexandria Hilfiger, along with design partner
Nary Manivong, showcase their latest collection during a special runway show presentation.
Fashion model and event founder Shannon Rusbuldt.
The design duo are the founders of the New York City-based
NAHM fashion label, which focuses currently on popularizing various representations of the shirtdress, by combining traditional men’s shirting details with feminine accents, luxe fabrics, and inventive silhouettes.
Hilfiger and hence NAHM’s involvement in the charity event stems from her aunt’s battle with multiple sclerosis, which even prompted her father, iconic designer
Tommy Hilfiger, to headline last year’s
inaugural fundraiser.

While the elder Hilfiger wasn’t able to attend yesterday’s bash, the other VIPs in attendance more than made-up for his absence. A variety of local notables, including the
Post’s
Fashion Washington Editor-in-Chief
Jennifer Barger, ABC 7 sports reporter
Britt McHenry, and
Availor Philanthropy Director
Katherine Kennedy, could be spotted mingling with various members of Congress and their staffers.
After the runway show, guests enjoyed the unseasonably warm Washington weather poolside during the after party, on the hotel’s prized rooftop deck, where
Art & Soul’s award-winning mixologist
Ronald Flores served-up an endless supply of drinks and
HOT 99.5 DJ
Chris Styles kept the crowd dancing (or head-bobbing at least).
Fashion’s fight against MS is clearly on. We’ve got odds on fashion.
