GEORGETOWN -- Never a crowd to be overshadowed by a little tree or amphibian, Georgetown’s bold and beautiful toasted the official arrival of the holiday season on Thursday evening, with a festive bash at The Guards.
Hosted by Capital Club President Win Huffman and Kitchen 2404/ Mason Inn owner Fritz Brogan, the event saw over a hundred of the District’s movers-and-shakers descend upon Georgetown for the guest list-only affair.
Hill staffers mixed with lawyers, on-air media personalities, technology executives, and non-profit leaders during the 9th manifestation of the signature ‘Mistletoe and Cocktails’ celebration, which always serves as an unofficial launch party for the myriad of holiday events to follow later in the month.
Unlike in years past which saw PaperMoon as the designated meeting point, last night’s soiree was held inside the cozy lower-level of The Guards – complete with (non-roaring) fireplace and holiday decorations.
The space has a storied history having housed the infamous ‘Griffin Room’ a few years back, which was a social staple for D.C.’s twenty and thirty-somethings before being supplanted by today’s hotspots, such as George and Mason Inn.
Happy holidays Georgetown!
