'The High School Coaches' won the 'Team Mo' category during Friday's gala.
H STREET -- Washington might have been aflutter this weekend with talk of Sunday’s
Kennedy Center Honors gala, but a perhaps even more prestigious awards ceremony was in full swing on Friday night, during the 2011 DC Movember Gala Parté benefiting the fight against prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

Just one in a series of national celebrations held to commemorate the end of the month of ‘
Movember’ (e.g., November), the DC ‘stache bash invited all of the organization’s area ‘Mo Bros’ and ‘Mo Sistas’ to dress-up in their favorite Movember costume and ‘showcase their immaculate grooming’ inside the storied walls of H Street’s
Rock N Roll Hotel.
Lame Mo Winner: Adam Conner.
The evening served double-duty as a makeshift contest of sorts, with attendees competing across a variety of category titles, including Miss Movember and Man of Movember.

The Movember organization’s on-going mission is to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. During November each year, the non-profit is singularly responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the U.S. and around the world.
Remember, remember, the end of Movember.
