NORTHWEST -- A decidedly happy ending was in the cards on Friday, during a late night fundraiser at
19th Bar benefiting
Once Upon A Prom.
Hosted by
Sarah Baker,
Marybeth Coleman,
Hadley Gamble,
Pamela Sorensen, and
Ashley Taylor, the holiday-themed event invited guests to ‘Get Elfed Up’ in the spirit of the season, with door donations and a portion of sales directed to the non-profit.
The self-described ‘evil elves’ set the spirited tone of the night in donning matching costumes, complete with wacky ear headgear, and supporters eagerly followed suit. Indeed, come midnight, a parade of elves, gnomes, Kringles, and a handful of characters that are too difficult to describe had passed through the well-liked bar’s doors.
Among the donors in attendance that night, we spotted
Washington Kastles owner
Mark Ein,
Microstrategy founder
Michael Saylor,
Fashion for Paws Executive Director
Tara de Nicolas, and the
Susan G. Komen Foundation’s
Kiki Ryan.
Once Upon A Prom was founded in 2006 as a way to provide scholarship funds and prom dresses to young area women who could not otherwise afford them.
And while we’re not spilling the beans on who truly got elfed up (or who was brave enough to seize the microphone on the karaoke stage), it’s safe to say that a fairytale ending was easily achieved.
