NORTHWEST -- Hudson Restaurant & Lounge channeled its inner Don Draper on New Year’s Eve, for a one-of-a-kind bash based on the smash AMC television show
Mad Men.
Hosted by
Meredith Fineman,
Julie Polinger,
Morgan Greenhouse,
Matthew Friedson,
Andrew Friedson, and
Micha Weinblatt, the 1960s era affair kicked off at 9:00pm with a four hour open bar.
And while a constant parade of both sweet and savory appetizers flowed from the kitchen throughout the night, many guests who had indulged in Executive Chef
Demetrio A. Zavala’s special five course NYE dinner menu (sample courses included poached lobster, Virginia Waygu beef short ribs, champagne terrine, etc.) surely found it hard to keep up.
Much like last year’s
‘Hollywood Glam’ celebration, Saturday’s party overflowed from Hudson’s spacious main bar and dining area into a specially-constructed tent, which had been decorated with mid-century modern posters in keeping with the theme.
And while similarly themed attire was optional, it was quite clear that those revelers in attendance had no trouble donning a skinny tie or sequined dress to maintain ‘Mad’ appearances.
Celebrating 2012 Washington via 1960 New York? Just another night on the Hudson…
