ADAMS MORGAN -- This holiday weekend might be dedicated to George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and all other past U.S. Presidents, but late Thursday night was all about France’s most famous Emperor, as
Napoleon Bistro & Lounge celebrated its fifth anniversary with a blowout bash.
Hundreds crowded both floors of the Adams Morgan-based institution, with passed hors d’oeuvres liberally circulating and an open champagne bar keeping spirits bright.
Always gracious hosts, restaurant owners
Zubair Popal,
Omar Popal, and
Mustafa Popal could be spotted chatting with guests and loyal customers throughout the night and were happy to pose for pictures with a series of costumed performance artists that had been enlisted for the event.
For those with more of a penchant for dancing rather than talking, Napoleon’s darkened lower level provided a bustling dance floor, complete with a live DJ and a second open bar.
Since it first opened its doors, the popular restaurant and bar’s opulent interior (e.g., gilded mirrors, crystal fixtures, rich red/black walls) has delighted Washingtonians with its French bistro fare and signature champagne cocktails.
Truly a Napoleon
complex worth visiting!
