Tickets to the 2012 Sweetlife Food & Music Festival go on sale Friday, with presale beginning today at noon.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In an announcement that made everyone from Coach Taylor to the average club rat smile, the initial artist roster for this year’s
Sweetlife Food & Music Festival was revealed yesterday, including headlining acts
Avicii,
Kid Cudi,
The Shins,
Explosions in the Sky,
Fitz and The Tantrums,
fun., and
A$AP Rocky.
See REVAMP.com’s complete coverage from last year's festival here.
For those looking to keep it real and score one of the handful of tickets slated to go on sale
today at noon, simply
'like' Sweetlife’s Facebook page for access to the exclusive presale code. Regular ticket sales will then begin Friday, March 9th.
Much like last year, tickets to the 2012 Sweetlife Festival are available in two different levels. A $125 VIP ticket will provide concertgoers with a premium menu by
Chef RJ Cooper of
Rogue 24 fame, a complimentary
sweetgreen salad tasting, free and filtered water, and prime/covered viewing areas in both the Main Pavilion and ‘The Treehouse’ (and anyone who attended last year’s soggy festival will remember what a difference such ‘cover’ made).
While details of Chef Cooper’s menu are still in the planning stages (spit-roasted pig? pizza oven?), individually packaged bags of some of Rogue 24’s organic granola will most likely make the final cut. The emphasis will be more on Cooper’s interest in farm to table foods and less on the highbrow small plates that have recently become synonymous with his name.

Simultaneously, VIP and General Admission ($75) ticketholders alike will enjoy access to a special Food Forest that will highlight offerings by
Chef Jose Andres’ new food truck
Pepe,
Shake Shack, and Brooklyn-based
Roberta’s Pizza, as well as plenty of free samples from the likes of
Honest Tea,
Stonyfield, and
KIND Healthy Snacks, among others.
Remaining grounded in its mission to both celebrate the environment and give back to the surrounding community, the 2012 Sweetlife Festival will be working with
DC Central Kitchen and
Global Inheritance on activities and programs that highlight the role of food in empowering communities and the value of recycling and renewable energy (there will be a human-sized hamster wheel!).
With the names of those additional artists slated to play The Treehouse to trickle out over the next few weeks, April 28th is sure sounding pretty sweet to us…
