GEORGETOWN -- The District’s young and beautiful found themselves awash in a sea of purple on Wednesday evening, as Georgetown’s luxe
Nectar Skin Bar threw open its doors for the D.C. stop of fashion icon and pop culture mainstay
Tinsley Mortimer’s nationwide book signing tour.
Tinsley Mortimer.
Co-hosted by D.C.’s own
Ashley Taylor,
Krista Johnson, and
Josie Taylor, the literary fete toasted the May 1st release of Mortimer’s debut novel,
Southern Charm, which tells the story of a modern day fairy tale set against the backdrop of the intimidating New York social scene.
Southern Charm was released on May 1st.
A self-described ‘girly girl’ and graduate of Columbia University, in addition to being a Beauty Ambassador for Christian Dior and a budding fashion designer, Mortimer is in a unique position to pen such a story drawing from her own personal experiences.
Co-hosts Krista Johnson, Josie Taylor, and Ashley Taylor.
In addition to being provided the opportunity to speak with the author, guests to yesterday’s book signing party were treated to a bevy of refreshing cocktails, such as the ‘Southern Charm’ (equal parts Hpnotiq Harmonie and champagne) or the ‘Minty Julep’ (Hpnotiq Harmonie, St. Germain, gin, fresh lemon juice) courtesy of
Hpnotiq Harmonie, in Nectar’s lush outdoor patio area.
The beauty bar’s everyday playful purple decorative accents were even further amplified during the guest list-only affair by a throng of colorful floral displays created by upscale flower delivery service
H. Bloom, which only further added to the festive nature of the evening.
Invitees to the exclusive soiree were carefully curated by the public relations team over at
BrandLinkDC, along with the input of Nectar owner
Amy Thomas and the night’s co-hosts.
A pretty beautiful way of living louder with southern charm, right?
