NORTHWEST -- The buy-in was a princely $300 on Saturday afternoon, during the
M.C. Dean Foundation’s second annual Charity Poker Tournament at
Cities Restaurant & Lounge.
Hosted by M.C. Dean, Inc. President and CEO
Bill Dean, the all-day benefit (which included a late night open bar after party) sought to raise funds in support of a variety of educational, literacy, job training, and health care programs that materially impact the communities in which the technology and engineering company works day-to-day.
And with last year’s inaugural Charity Poker Tournament raking in more than $50,000 in donations, spirits were high for this weekend’s game. In addition to general admission fees, Dean had enlisted the help of many of his high-profile friends in order to assemble a prized silent auction table.
Standard sports packages and memorabilia, such as a signed
Alex Ovechkin jersey or a Washington Nationals MVP game package, were naturally up for bidding. But the most sought-after prizes were probably a cozy Nantucket weekend getaway and a private lunch/dinner party aboard the Potomac-based yacht that Dean co-owns.
A winning hand no matter how you cut it.
