Lauren Schmalz and Lydia Russo show-off their stylish shoes during Bethesda Row's private screening of 'God Save My Shoes'.
BETHESDA, Md. -- Depending on who you asked, an “orgasm for your feet” may or may not have been in the cards for those guests lucky enough to score a seat to Thursday evening’s exclusive screening of “God Save My Shoes”, at the
Bethesda Row Landmark Cinema.
The first of three days of special events hosted by Bethesda Row as part of the fashionable neighborhood’s annual
Front Row celebration, last night’s gathering treated attendees to a private showing of this year’s “ultimate fashion documentary” featuring interviews with celebrity shoe addicts and shoe designers, such as
Fergie,
Kelly Rowland,
Manolo Blahnik, and
Christian Louboutin.
Film producer
Thierry Daher had made the trip down from his studio in New York just for the occasion and joined
Washingtonian Fashion Editor
Kate Bennett, following the screening, for an intimate Q&A session.
Afterwards, everyone made the quick walk to the neighboring
Vapiano restaurant for a late night after party that boasted plenty of savory Mediterranean fare and beverages from Stoli, Peroni, and Winesellers. Georgetown Cupcake had even baked a special batch of movie-themed treats for the occasion, which were quickly wolfed down.
With fashion featured front and center throughout the evening, many guests came dressed to impress and were sweetly rewarded for their efforts. Literally. A handful of ‘best dressed’ winners were each gifted a chocolate shoe sculpture by
Bethesda Orthodontics, which themselves quickly became crowd pleasers during the after party.
The 2012 Front Row celebration continues tonight with an energetic runway show directly on Bethesda Lane presided over by Bravo TV’s leading man and new author,
Andy Cohen.
