NORTHWEST -- The line to meet Bravo’s leading man and newly published author Andy Cohen began to form just past 9:00 a.m. on Friday and eventually stretched all the way around the block of Bethesda Row’s prime swatch of retail real estate.
Cohen, of course, was the evening’s guest of honor and presided over the neighborhood’s signature runway show, dubbed ‘The Front Row’. A much-looked forward to fashion fete, the annual outdoor tradition attracts hundreds of Washingtonians for a stylish soiree that showcases the latest designer wares from many of Bethesda Row’s posh merchants, such as Ginger, Urban Chic, Equniox, and J.McLaughlin.
VIP guests from both the national and local media, as well as leading D.C. fashionistas and philanthropists, began the night with a private pre-runway reception at nearby Redwood Restaurant in addition to receiving prime seats next to the catwalk.
But the general public was treated to a flock of fashionable freebies as well, including complimentary makeovers at a special Aveda lipstick/eye bar and a variety of free floral accessories courtesy of H. Bloom -- all in addition to the chance to talk with Cohen and have him sign a copy of his debut book.
And taking full advantage of the energy and excitement that remained after the nearly 30-minute runway show, most Bethesda Row merchants stayed open late throughout the night in order to quickly satiate the shopping appetites of spectators.
After all, a Front Row seat is a prized commodity!
