NORTHWEST -- An unseasonably warm summer sun failed to deter hundreds of D.C. music lovers from filling the lush outdoor lawn outside of
Gaylord National Resort, as
94.7 Fresh FM celebrated the inaugural launch of its summer ‘FRESHtival’ concert series.
The afternoon and evening performance line-up was as diverse as it was engaging to the family-friendly crowd, with English indie rock band
Scars on 45 and Florida-based pop rockers
Junior Doctor serving as opening acts.

The ‘DMV’ then showed its own musical roots with Gaithersburg, MD hometown girl
Erin Willett taking the stage. As she cycled through many of the songs that earned her a semifinalist spot during the second season of ‘The Voice’ on NBC, the mounting applause from the crowd demonstrated that she has a solid fan base nearby.

Nevertheless, it was
Adam Lambert’s headlining set that truly had FRESHtival-goers cheering. No stranger to D.C., Lambert enthusiastically performed a bevy of his hits to screaming fans of all ages -- some of whom brought posters proclaiming their love for the season 8 second place winner of ‘American Idol’, while others simply shouted their support.
Kelly Collis braves the heat to keep fans hydrated.
Making it rain!
All throughout the event, all of 94.7’s on-air radio hosts, including
Tommy McFLY,
Kelly Collis,
Kristie McIntyre,
Darik Kristofer, and
Taylor Shay, could be found mingling about the crowd, as they passed out t-shirts and free samples of everything from
Pinkberry frozen yogurt to bags of
popchips!.

A truly reFRESHing way to celebrate the holiday weekend!
