WEST END -- Taking advantage of one of the remaining lazy days of summer, the young members of
The Madison of Washington, D.C. invited their friends and colleagues to luxe
A BAR at Avenue Suites on Thursday evening, for a casual happy hour celebration.
Perhaps best known for its signature charitable events, such as ‘
Madison and Mistletoe’, which seamlessly marry philanthropy to a great party, the nonprofit also likes to highlight the social side of Washington in order to encourage networking and friendship-building among members.
And last night’s end of summer bash was just that: a chance for existing and prospective members alike, as well as their friends, to chat amidst the backdrop of one of the West End’s hottest new nightlife venues.
Indeed, A BAR’s
recently updated craft cocktail menu was one of the evening’s biggest draws, with beverage manager
Brennan Adams’ frosty Drinkin’ Dots a standout favorite (although a specially mixed Madison Sparkling Julep Cocktail also proved popular).
Sealing the deal that kept the crowd comfortably nestled inside the modern space’s indoor bar and outdoor terrace area, long past happy hour’s end, was A BAR’s tasty small plates menu. Warm slices of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, priced at a scant $5, were quickly scarfed down by fashionable guests.
A picturesque summer send-off to be sure.
