The Guest List:
PENN QUARTER -- Washington’s only black tie and sneakers gala, the ninth annual SneakerBall returned to the National Building Museum on Tuesday night.

Boasting an extensive evening program, yesterday’s glitzy bash began with a cocktail hour and silent auction presented by Events DC and spanned a full dinner and awards ceremony, before ending with a late-night after party presented by local tech titan Living Social.

Turning out to show their support for the charitable benefit that is organized each year in recognition of the Greater Washington Sports Alliance Foundation was a bevy of both current and former athletes from the Washington Redskins, Washington Wizards, Washington Kastles, and D.C. United sports franchises.

Established in 2003, the Alliance is charged with a mission to create economic stimulus and civic pride by initiating and supporting the successful execution of sporting events in the Greater Washington area.

Spotted both chatting with guests during dinner and mingling about the lively after party yesterday was Wizards point guard John Wall, D.C. United forward Chris Pontius, and Redskins hall of famer Darrell Green, among countless other household names.

Guest were treated to a live performance by the Wizards Girls before a moment of remembrance was had in memory of the tragedy of 9/11.

This year’s awards ceremony recognized Joe Theismann as the 2012 Hall of Champions inductee, as well as honored the still undefeated Washington Kastles with an Outstanding Team Performance Award.

As the evening progressed, the dance floor grew increasingly crowded with guests no doubt encouraged by their comfortable and colorful footwear.

Kickin’ it, for real.
