Glowing cassette tapes (remember those?) were strung from the canopy of P.O.V's prized terrace in keeping with the '80s theme of the night.
NORTHWEST -- MTV might have killed the radio star, but that mattered little to the hundreds of animal-loving partygoers who ascended to the top floor of the
W Washington D.C. hotel on Friday evening, for a special Halloween benefit celebration.
A decidedly ‘80s-themed affair, the party served a dual purpose as a fundraiser for the
Fashion for Paws program of the Washington Humane Society, much as it did at
last year’s sold-out event.
Boasting a playful ‘Neon Nights’ title, guests to the blowout bash took full advantage of the occasion to sport some of the loudest colors of the season (circa 1984), although a handful stuck with more tried and true, scary costumes.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., a talented group of break dancers – engaged specifically for the throwback event – took to the center of P.O.V’s famed lounge overlooking the Washington Monument for an energetic performance, as the crowd cheered them on.
One lucky partygoer even walked away with a pricey hotel sleepover package, champagne and breakfast in bed included, as the winner of the evening’s costume contest.
Talking about barking up the right tree.
