MCLEAN, Va. -- Teaming with practically every store in the world already, it takes a lot to pique the curiosity of
Tysons Corner shoppers.
But excitement and inspiration were most decidedly in the air on Thursday evening, as D.C. area VIPs flocked to the tony McLean shopping destination for the grand opening celebration of the newest
C. Wonder location.
Founded by venture capitalist
J. Christopher Burch, the upscale chain is charged with the simple mission of no less than “delivering brightness to every corner of life.”
In order to fulfill such a pledge, the C. Wonder brand of stores seeks to create an entirely new retail experience by offering clothing, accessories, and home decor products of outstanding quality at astonishingly low prices.
$250 bicycle? Check. Designer dinnerware collection? Only $46 per place setting. Sunglasses, cheese boards, jewelry, fur coats? Yep, all there, all priced to move quickly, and all boasting colorful flourishes and a preppy style that fits Washington to a T.
Guests to last night’s by-invitation-only grand opening celebration, however, were treated to an even more swanky shopping experience, including passed hors d’oeuvres, C. Wonder cupcakes, and even chilled glasses of a specially mixed ‘Wonder-Ade’ libation!
And between the DJ’s smooth beats playing in the background, the congenial conversation, the cupcakes and cocktails, and, naturally, the much needed bout of retail therapy, attendees found it hard to leave the store even as the night grew long.
No surprise there though really. It was a (C.) Wonder-ful occasion after all.
