GEORGETOWN -- Both the Republican and Democratic parties took a backseat to the ‘Grean American Cocktail Party’ on Friday evening, as the historic
City Tavern Club hosted a conciliatory post-election celebration.
And, as evidenced by the hundred or so guests who crowded the venue’s first and second floors for the occasion, Georgetowners were clearly in the mood for a return to normalcy.
In the patriotic spirit of the night, a handsome buffet spread of all-American fare, including hamburgers, pigs in a blanket, and tater tots, fueled the festive nature of the event.
Yet, it was clearly the open bars that mollified any once heavily partisan guests in attendance into setting aside their political gripes and raising a glass towards the country’s future.
Indeed, the only swaying that went on during Friday’s bash was the rhythmic kind, as guests danced the night away to both classic and Motown hits as performed live by
The MOONLIGHTERS band.
Cheers to four more years of good drinks and good times.
