FAIRFAX, Va. -- Mere weeks after the new Fairfax urban retail development known as
Mosaic officially opened for business, the sprawling 31-acre development held its first annual Fashion Night yesterday with approximately a dozen participating partners.
From 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m., guests were encouraged to shop from Mosaic’s carefully curated group of retailers, including Ginger, Lou Lou, Last Call Studio by Neiman Marcus, Amethyst, Timothy Paul, and Bellacara to name but a few.
A portion of the proceeds from the night’s sales were then, in turn, earmarked for the
Starlight Children's Foundation, which provides entertainment, education, and family activities for seriously ill children in the United States and their families.
Some stores went all out for the occasion, with passed bites and chilled cocktails for shoppers. Fashion forward
South Moon Under, for example, had all of the above as well as an exclusive book signing party with famed fashion blogger
Emily Shuman of style blog
Cupcakes and Cashmere fame.
The nearby
Angelika film center even got into the fashionable spirit of the evening, with complimentary screenings of
Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel and
The September Issue.
A mosaic of a night made possible by the stylish sum of its retail parts.
