H STREET -- Sometimes all a weary Hill reporter, tech executive, K Streeter or even Congressman wants to do is dance. And last Thursday, they more than got their chance as the
Entertainment Software Association hosted its annual holiday reception on the H Street Corridor.

Returning to the darkened halls of the always popular
Rock & Roll Hotel, the evening celebration drew hundreds of guests to the private event, which cut a wide path across Washington's resident group of powerbrokers.

Spotted mingling about all three floors of the venue with ESA CEO
Michael Gallagher was everyone from
Congressman Edolphus Towns, ABC News'
Jonathan Karl, CNN's
Gloria Borger, USA Today’s
Greg Toppo, former
Congressman Bart Stupak,
Robert Porter of the Senate Judiciary Committee,
Andy Koenig of the House Republican Conference, and SKDKnickerbocker's
Hilary Rosen.

Given ESA's role as an advocate for the U.S. video game industry, numerous tech executives were also in attendance, including
Josh Tenuta of Apple,
Andrew Noyes of Facebook, and
Fred Humphries of Microsoft.

Beyond the chance to toast the start of the holidays, Thursday's reception provided guests with the opportunity to mix, mingle, and, naturally, play some video games.

And while the 'Just Dance 4' dance-off that commanded center stage was clearly designed for the not so faint of heart, there were plenty of console stations scattered throughout Rock & Roll Hotel that allowed attendees to tap into their inner Assassin's Creed or Guitar Hero.

Game on, holiday season.
