NORTHWEST -- As the self-described 'crown' atop
The Hay-Adams hotel, the
Top of the Hay is already one of Washington's most fashionable places to host a party.

Yet the famed ninth floor space overlooking the White House got an added burst of chic cheer on Wednesday night, as fashion retail and media powerhouses
NET-A-PORTER and
Vogue threw a festive holiday reception.

Hosted by
Susanna Quinn, writer and wife of superlobbyist and former White House counsel
Jack Quinn, the early evening celebration invited some 75 guests to "come get inspired by a buffet of baubles and bags to suit the season."

And inspire they did, with hundreds of prized designer shoes, bags, clutches, sunglasses, boots, and bracelets tastefully scattered throughout the space -- all sparkling enticingly under the hotel's vaulted skylights.

Indeed, the only thing that stole focus away from the accessories on display were the guests in attendance, with the intimate gathering attracting a who's who of the District's philanthropic, political, fashion, and even military elite.

Carefully styled models from Georgetown's
THE Artist Agency walked the room between champagne pours, thereby offering attendees an in-depth look at some of the season's best looks.

Forever the consummate host, Quinn deftly moved between friends throughout the party, introducing guests to one another, catching-up with fellow time-starved Washingtonians, and ensuring that everyone left with a smile.

Because baubles and bags or not, good holiday cheer is always en
Vogue.
