DUPONT CIRCLE -- Boasting all of the trappings of a festive holiday affair, professional, civic, and social organization The Madison celebrated the tenth anniversary of its signature wintertime fundraiser on Saturday evening, inside the marbled walls of Dupont's historic The Washington Club.
Playfully titled 'Madison & Mistletoe', the event serves first and foremost as an end of year party for the non-profit's members and their guests, with a dollop of charitable fundraising thrown in for good measure.
Back by popular request this weekend, rock/rhythm and blues band Doug Clark's Hot Nuts had been reenlisted to ensure the 'ultimate dance floor experience'.
And corporate sponsorships from Deep Eddy Vodka, Jim Beam, SkinnyGirl, and George (which hosted the official after party) maximized the night's charitable haul.
Like all of The Madison's events over the past year, proceeds raised from Saturday's gathering will be donated to No Greater Sacrifice, an organization dedicated to the children of fallen and wounded U.S. Armed Service members.
Since it was first founded in 2004, The Madison has raised more than $100,000 in support of local charities despite its membership being limited to only 100 members from around the D.C. metro area.
Talking about making spirits bright...
