PENN QUARTER -- Helping maintain the energy that has made
Graffiato one of the city's most popular restaurants, owner/chef
Mike Isabella recently launched a new monthly 'Industry Takeover Night' series, which invites fellow chef friends and mixologists to temporarily takeover the kitchen and bar of the Penn Quarter-based eatery.

Headlining the first installment of the series last night, James Beard Foundation Award finalist and Top Chef alum
Bryan Voltaggio jumped behind Graffiato's burners to showcase some of the menu items from his newest restaurant
RANGE, which is located inside the Chevy Chase Pavilion in Friendship Heights.

Joining him at the bar was RANGE beverage director
Owen Thomson, who was pouring signature
Serpentine Overtone cocktails consisting of a homemade blend of tequila, cranberry, hibiscus, lime, and black pepper.

Washington being a fairly small town, several of Voltaggio and Isabella's fellows chefs turned-out in support of the occasion, with
Scott Drewno,
Spike Mendelsohn, and
Victor Albisu all spotted mingling about Graffiato's crowded first floor.
