GEORGETOWN -- Some 50 of the city's rising young professional women streamed into the Georgetown location of
Kate Spade on Tuesday night, as
The Madison hosted its first recruiting event of 2013.

A professional, civic, and social organization made-up of 100 young women from the greater D.C. area, the nonprofit seeks to improve its surrounding community and enhance the lives of its members through volunteerism, with a healthy dose of fun thrown in for good measure.

Each year, The Madison channels its fundraising efforts to one lucky charity, with
No Greater Sacrifice receiving the bulk of the group's largess in both 2011 and 2012.

With 2013 now upon the organization, its members recently conducted a search for a new nonprofit recipient. And
Crittenton Services of Greater Washington was just announced as The Madison's newest beneficiary.
Crittenton Board Chair Pamela A. Johnson addresses the crowd.
For more than three decades, Crittenton has empowered local teen girls to overcome obstacles, make positive choices, and achieve their goals through a variety of in-school best-practices programs.

A noble purpose to be sure and one that both prospective and existing members of The Madison no doubt share.
