NORTHWEST -- Washington's young professionals had the opportunity to channel their inner James Bond and Vesper Lynd on Saturday evening, as
The University Club of Washington, D.C. held a special 'Casino Royale'-themed party inside its storied walls.
The sold-out affair saw well over a hundred guests turn out for the opportunity to court Lady Luck through a variety of games of chance, including poker, blackjack, and roulette.
At the end of the night, those with the most amount of chips were awarded a series of prizes, such as gift cards from private car service
Uber or free dining credits inside the Club's restaurant.
'Bond attire' was encouraged and those in attendance surely didn't disappoint, with men donning their finest black tie duds and women dazzling in slinky cocktails dresses.
Much as they were during last year's
Apres Ski celebration, melodic rockers
The Jangling Reinharts were enlisted to draw guests to the dance floor and dance they did until the very last song.
Around the stroke of midnight, everyone made the short walk to recently opened, Dupont Circle hotspot
The Huxley for the official afterparty, where Goldfinger saw to it that bottles were liberally popped.
Saturday's Casino Royale party was hosted by The University Club's Proctor L. Dougherty Society, which strives to promote the involvement of the under 35 set in the life and activities of the organization. The young subgroup takes its name from one of the Club's founders, who also served as the mayor of Washington, D.C. during prohibition.
No word yet on whether he liked his martini shaken or stirred though.
