DUPONT CIRCLE -- While nary a leprechaun was in sight, there was still plenty of revelers who crowded into
Irish Whiskey Public House on Tuesday evening, as
The Madison hosted its trademark Saint Patrick's Day-themed fundraiser.
Green was the clear color of the night, with guests using the occasion to sport the latest clover leaf-chic fashions, including green shirts, green pants, green ties, green dresses, and green scarves.
Like most Madison events, the occasion served double-duty as both a fun happy hour amongst friends and a fundraiser for the nonprofit's designated 2013 beneficiary charity:
Crittenton Services of Greater Washington.
A $10 voluntary door donation bought access to a bevy bar specials, including $5 Irish drafts, $6 Jameson shots, and a series of specialty cocktails on each of Irish Whiskey's cozy three floors.
For those looking to try their luck at the evening's raffle, each $5 ticket (or 10 for $20) held out the possibility of winning a variety of gift cards to area restaurants, including The Mighty Pint, Wilson Tavern, George, and Mason Inn.
Additionally, Irish Whiskey's owners,
Reese Gardner,
Sam Harper, and
Mike Knapp, had generously agreed to donate 10% of the night's bar sales to The Madison.
For more than three decades now, Crittenton has empowered local teen girls to overcome obstacles, make positive choices, and achieve their goals through a variety of in-school, best-practices programs.
Because some things aren't best left to chance.
