WEST END -- There was a stylish spring in Top Chef star
Spike Mendelsohn's step as he walked into the West End's popular
Karma Beauty Lounge early Wednesday night.
The
Good Stuff Eatery and
We, The Pizza owner was joined for the occasion by dozens of the District's most stylish, for a special fundraiser benefiting the
Washington Humane Society (WHS).
Between sips of
Moet & Chandon Imperial champagne and cupcake bites, guests were treated to mini-manicures and a seemingly real time fashion show, with seven models styled by Georgetown boutique
Hu's Wear mingling about in the latest spring styles.
Billed as an 'Emerald Spring' event, Karma was overflowing with blooming orchids, callow lilies, parrot tulips, and pale green hydrangeas from Le Printemps Flowers for the evening.
And a special 'Spring Awakening' raffle provided everyone with the chance to give back, with all proceeds benefiting the WHS's Fashion for Paws program.
A bubbly and benevolent start to the spring season.
