NORTHWEST -- While the inside dining room and private lower level of
P.J. Clarke's are well-known to Washington insiders as venerable deal-making locations, it was the restaurant and bar's spacious outdoor area's turn to make headlines on Tuesday evening, during a packed patio opening party.
And more than a hundred guests, all eager for the chance to take advantage of the week's spectacular weather, streamed in to the K Street Corridor power spot for the occasion, which was open to the general public.
Beyond the spectacular setting, P.J. Clarke's provided attendees with a series of extended happy hour specials, including $3.50
DC Brau pours and $0.50 oysters.
The night was made all the more special by the extension of the venue's on-going contest to find a name for its new signature oyster variety.
Much as they had been in the days leading-up to yesterday's party, guests were encouraged to submit their suggestions for the new mollusc moniker, with the still to-be-announced winner (next week) receiving a private patio party for 50.
For those that missed Tuesday's festivities, P.J. Clarke's still has them covered. All spring and summer long, the 50-cent oyster and DC Brau beer specials will continue every Tuesday from 2:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
