'W For Men' Launch Party Inaugurates District's First Clinical Dermatology Practice

K STREET -- Fresh from a glowing profile in the June/July 2013 issue of Town & Country magazine, Dr. Tina Alster formerly celebrated the opening of her new 'W for Men' office on Wednesday evening, with a red-carpeted launch party.

A quick elevator ride away from her existing and award-winning Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery practice, which has catered to a who's who list of D.C. residents since 1990, the freshly unveiled facility is billed as the "world's first clinical dermatology practice for men."

Beyond signed sports memorabilia on the wall and a more neutral coat of paint, that means a series of dedicated treatment options specifically designed for the medical requirements of male aesthetic patients.

Heading-up Alster's W for Men team is board-certified dermatologist Dr. Terrence Keaney, whose main area of interest is identifying and treating the specific cosmetic dermatologic needs of men.

A UVA School of Medicine graduate and leader in "the study of gender differences in aesthetic dermatology", Keaney occupies a plum spot in the rapidly growing field of cosmetic procedures for men.
