GEORGETOWN -- It is said that one's 10th anniversary is considered a 'tin' affair. And the Georgetown waterfront's
Malmaison certainly sparkled last week, as prominent event planner
Andre Wells feted his namesake firm's crossing of such a milestone.
Guests to the private celebration began the occasion with a sumptuous four course meal prepared by the Parisian-inspired restaurant and gallery, whose multi-storied floor plan also provided a perfect setting for the crowded late night dance party that was to follow.
Wells, of course, is the mastermind behind many of the District's most high profile special events, which serve as the foundation for a global business that counts everyone from Hollywood celebrities to Fortune 1000 companies to wedding couples as clients.
Beyond toasting Events by Andre Wells' continued success, Wednesday's elegant affair also provided attendees with a sneak preview of Malmaison's refined space and cafe concept.
While the venue has played host to many concerts and private functions over the past few months, the
Popal family-owned business (they also own Georgetown's Cafe Bonaparte and Napoleon Bistro & Lounge in Adams Morgan) won't make its public debut until
next week according to the
Washingtonian.
Something old, something new. And plenty of reasons to celebrate.
