NORTHWEST -- Served hot or cold, it didn't matter Thursday evening at the W Washington D.C., as revenge was a dish in which everyone happily indulged.

The occasion for such a playfully sinful night was nothing less than a special book signing party with author Lauren Weisberger, as she celebrated the June 4th release of her most recent work, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns.

Weisberger's sojourn atop the hotel at the acclaimed P.O.V rooftop lounge and terrace was the New Yorker's only appearance in the District while promoting her recently released bestseller.

The book picks up 10 years after protagonist Andy Sachs quit the job "a million girls would die for," as she and Emily, her former nemesis and co-assistant, are launching a new high-end bridal magazine that has quickly become required reading for the young and stylish.

Speaking of said bold and beautiful, hundreds of them were in attendance yesterday as the W Washington D.C. pulled out all of the stops for the banner event.

So-called revenge-worthy fashions from Bloomingdale's in Chevy Chase lined the room and one lucky guest, who registered his/her outfit for the evening on Dress Your Guests, even walked away with a $500 gift card to the luxury retailer.

Between sips of signature cocktails, such as the Priestly's Poison (St. Germain, sparkling Brut & club soda), attendees were also treated to complementary makeovers courtesy of the IPSA and NARS primping stations.

All the while, DJ Neekola streamed a steady soundtrack of brisk beats that no doubt fueled the fight over who would get the last Georgetown Cupcake.

The devil herself couldn't have throw a more vengeful affair.
