The Guest List:
NORTHWEST -- If Washingtonians happened to notice a power vacuum of sorts about town early Thursday evening, it was not by chance. For it was at that time that Capitol File Magazine threw open the doors to Long View Gallery for its 2013 'Power Issue' party.

Co-hosted by Time Warner Cable, the exclusive affair sought to celebrate some of the District's most influential leaders, including Dr. G. Wayne Clough, Gerald Hines, Olympia Snowe, Eileen McMenamin, Michele Stockwell, Janet Murguía, Jim Kimsey, Chip Akridge, Barbara Lang, Lidia Soto-Harmon, Tom Meyer, Martin Baron, Kaya Henderson, Paula Kerger, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, and R. Gil Kerlikowske.

With such a notable roster of honorees, the guest list swelled with an equally influential number of friends and family, including everyone from MicroStrategy founder and CEO Michael Saylor to power lobbyist Heather Podesta.

All the while, Capitol File President and Editor-in-Chief Sarah Schaffer and Time Warner Cable Executive Vice President and Chief Government Relations Officer Gail MacKinnon deftly moved about the room, making introductions and warmly greeting longtime friends.

Of course, a celebration wouldn't be a celebration without the requisite congratulatory toast. And attendees to yesterday's party had a bevy of beverage options from which to choose courtesy of sponsors Corona Light and Art in the Age Spirits.

If as Plato once said, "the measure of a man is what he does with power," then judging by last night's crowd D.C. stands second to none.
