Dupont Clubbers Go Alpine At KABIN Preview Party

DUPONT CIRCLE -- D.C. natives who have born witness to the city's rapid modernization over the past few years are in for an even bigger jolt, with Saturday's grand opening of newly remodeled KABIN in Dupont Circle.



Indeed, the alpine-themed lounge occupies the former home of one of the city's most notorious dive bars, Steve's Bar Room. Yet, if last night's VIP preview party demonstrated anything, it was that there was nothing dive-y about KABIN.



Hundreds of owners Kunal Shah, Vinoda Basnayake, Dustin Huynh, and Rajeev Subramanian's friends and family turned-out for the early evening celebration, which showcased the nightspot's blend of modern amenities with rustic wood decorative accents (think reindeer head sculptures above the DJ booth).



Libations at KABIN run the gamut from traditional vodka sodas and whiskeys to specialty drinks, such as a classic apres-ski shot of three pins.
