SOUTHWEST -- Over two thousand patriotic partygoers packed the courts and stands of Kastles Stadium at The Wharf on Thursday, for the 3rd Annual Red White & Boom July 4th celebration.

Hosted by Fritz Brogan and Reed Landry, owners of Georgetown and Glover Park nightlife mainstays George and Mason Inn, the five hour party more than delivered upon its promise of 'open air, open bars, bands, DJs, and dancing.'

A main performance stage setup at the front of the stadium drew center focus, while a secondary tent strategically located next to the event's food trucks ensured that guests were never out of earshot of a live band or DJ.

Music came courtesy of some half dozen both national and local acts, including The Rude Nudies, DJ MOW, Dale and the ZDubs, and The Trophy Bros.

Fresh from recording their most ambitious music video to date inside Mason Inn itself, The Morrison Brothers Band essentially closed out the concert portion of the evening before the National Mall's fireworks display caused everyone to stop and watch.

Washingtonians who felt particularly flush for Independence Day had the option to purchase a special VIP ticket to Red White & Boom, which provided a private party area complete with its own bars stocked full of premium spirits.

Between bands, bites, and beverages, ticketholders were encouraged to test their athletic prowess on a series of makeshift bocce ball and cornhole courts that had been scattered throughout Kastles Stadium. Representatives from United Social Sports were even on-hand to recruit prospective players into its merry leagues.

Rumor has it, after all (not really), that the founding fathers tossed a mean bean bag. Happy birthday America.
