GEORGETOWN -- It was all dolls and dudes on Friday evening in Georgetown, as luxe L2 Lounge spared no expense in opening the doors to its popular end-of-summer 'Barbie' beach party.

After four consecutive years of at-capacity parties, the occasion has practically become a de facto tradition among Washingtonians, with many guests enthusiastically digging into their closets to come up with appropriately playful costumes.

Indeed, the winner of this year's 'Best Barbie' look of the night even walked away with a prized gift basket donated by Ashley Yau of Trish McEvoy at Nordstrom Montgomery Mall.

Inside L2's centrally located DJ booth on Friday was Baltimore-based Daniel Biltmore who, along with Chad Hugo (The Neptunes, N.E.R.D.), make-up the acclaimed DJ duo known as MSSL CMMND.

While the strong craft cocktails, lively soundtrack, and notable guest list (everyone from Fox News political analyst Juan Williams to sports-related media executive Jimmy Lynn was spotted) were certainly nothing new, there was one notable addition to the 2013 festivities with the arrival of private car service Uber as a sponsor.

Attendees were treated to a free SUV or Town Car ride to Friday evening's party courtesy of the widely popular startup, which itself just raised some $361 million in new funding last week.

We assume the return trip home, naturally, must have to Barbie's so-called 'Dream House'.
