MOUNT VERNON SQUARE -- There might not have been a heck of a lot of reading going on there Saturday night, but Mount Vernon Square's historic
Carnegie Library found itself nevertheless overflowing with young Washingtonians for the sequel to
last year's blowout Halloween bash.
Co-hosted by popular Georgetown and Glover Park nightspots
George and
Mason Inn, the party drew over a thousand guests of varying shapes, sizes, and degrees of undress.
While the sight of Macklemore sharing a cocktail with the cast of 'Breaking Bad' might not be that unusual in Los Angeles, it's somewhat of a shocker in D.C. As are the Care Bears dancing with what could best be described as a very enthusiastic bunch of bananas.
In addition to free-flowing libations, the cost of admission bought ticketholders access to four party areas spread out over both levels of the Library -- each boasting its own live band or DJ (The Trophy Brothers, Katita & The Fajitas, Always Morning, DJs Dimmy, Phaser, and Storgy).
And
Sparkology, the New York City-based dating website that
recently expanded into the District, seized the opportunity to sponsor the evening's roped-off VIP section which boasted top shelf spirits and (more importantly) its own private set of bathrooms.
Still, despite multiple sightings at Carnegie over the weekend, we still don't quite know what the fox says.
