NORTHWEST -- The snow might not have arrived until Sunday, but that didn't stop a lucky group of Washingtonians from hitting the slopes early, with the
University Club throwing open its venerable doors to the cold on Friday for its fifth Apres Ski party.
Hosted by the private club's Proctor Dougherty Society, which is targeted at the city's young professionals, the late night holiday celebration saw over a hundred guests sport their finest 'alpine chic' outfits for the occasion.
Beyond the standard spread of heavy hors d'oeuvres and bottomless beer and wine, an assortment of creative cocktails was on offer at the bar.
And naturally,
The Jangling Reinharts returned to the stage for
another year to encourage every ski bunny in attendance to start hopping on the dance floor.
The after party for Friday's alpine affair was held at preppy Georgetown hotspot
Smith Point, which allowed University Club revelers to gain access to its equally guarded gates -- sans cover charge or line no less.
Slope-side spirits were never brighter.
