GEORGETOWN -- The District scored some serious style points last week, as the players from
F.C. Inter Milan teamed-up with the Georgetown flagship store of
Brooks Brothers for a private summer celebration.
The iconic American clothier serves as the official formalwear sponsor of the internationally acclaimed Italian 'football' club. It was therefore a given that the team arrived (amidst a flurry of photographer flashes) dressed to the nines in Brooks Brothers blazers and ties.
Thursday's early evening party capped a busy week for the soccer stars that saw them faceoff against
Manchester United Tuesday night in the International Champions Cup and co-host, along with
Pirelli, a soccer clinic for D.C. kids the following afternoon at
The Yards Park on the Southeast waterfront.
Those lucky enough to score a prized invite were treated to champagne cocktails, topped with refreshing scoops of gelato, during the event, along with plenty of passed hors d'oeuvres.
The guests of honor made themselves surprisingly approachable to their fellow partygoers, with autographs and selfies abounding.
No strangers already to dapper duds, many of the players even managed to fit in some distinctively D.C. retail therapy as they were spotted trying on various pieces of Brooks Brothers merchandise, in addition to picking up gifts for their families back home.
An enormously entertaining and
Inter-esting celebration, for sure!
