Members of the press were invited to a special kick-off reception on the rooftop of the posh Capella hotel for a preview of the 2014 Taste of Georgetown lineup.
GEORGETOWN -- The annual neighborhood food festival known as the
Taste of Georgetown returns to Washington on Saturday, September 13th from noon to 5pm.
Now in its 21st year, the popular celebration hosted by the Georgetown Business Improvement District always draws a standout crowd thanks to a nearly unparalleled degree of support from the surrounding community.
More than 35 of Georgetown's best restaurants will participate in this weekend's festivities, including top rated eateries (
Bourbon Steak,
Luke's Lobster, etc.), longtime favorites (
Baked & Wired,
Filomena, etc.), and newcomers (
Chez Billy Sud,
Pinstripes, etc.) alike.
This year's event boasts a few new surprises for the thousands of expected attendees, including a new location on the Georgetown waterfront, extended hours, and, perhaps most notably, a fall (instead of spring/summer) timeslot.
Entertainment during the 2014 Taste of Georgetown will run the gamut from bocce ball courts to live bluegrass and country music to a special 'chef showdown' to even a giant cupcake-eating contest.
And naturally many businesses will have plenty of happy hour specials for those revelers who wish to keep the energy and deals going long into the night.
